The Pha Yant — the sacred yantra cloth — is one of the most accessible of all Thai sacred objects: modest in price, yet believed to carry the full measure of protective blessing. And yet many people receive one and are never quite sure how to use it properly.
Hanging It at Home or in Your Shop
Tradition favours placing the Pha Yant above the main entrance, or on a wall facing an auspicious direction of the home or shop. Hang it high — above head height — in a clean spot, never in a passage under the stairs or facing a bathroom. Before hanging it, recite the Namo invocation three times and make your wish.
Can You Carry It with You?
Yes — fold it neatly and keep it in your wallet or handbag. By tradition, though, never put it in a back trouser pocket, as sitting on a sacred object is considered disrespectful, and never leave it in a low place or mixed with unclean items.
